Fascination with digital technologies and the limitless possibilities offered by generative design is becoming commonplace, forcing us designers to seek creative and non-standard applications of modern engineering. However, the increasingly sophisticated CAD/CAM tools that the craftspeople of the future are equipping themselves with carry the risk of losing creative autonomy, dominated by artificial intelligence algorithms. Just as there is no going back to the pre-internet era, there is no escape from 3D printing – we must domesticate it, give it an individual character, and adapt it to the world of art. By referring to the mathematical term TOPOLOGY, we want to enter an area that until recently seemed to be beyond the reach of designers.
