T² – „Momentary” Amber Duet

The jurors of the Amberif Selection 2026 competition were unaware that their decision would determine the fate of a new jewellery project. The distinction awarded to the set of brooches created by Tomasz Kargul and Tadeusz Dobkowski became the impetus without which the T² duo would probably not have decided to continue their collaboration.

For Tomasz Kargul, collaboration with other creators has been a natural source of inspiration for years. It was the meeting with Monika Błaszkowska – an artist working with recycled materials and the creator of a distinctive patchwork – that resulted in one of his most recognizable collections. That project also began with a competitive award – in Amberif Selection 2023.

This year Kargul submitted three works to the competition, each created with a different artist. The jury only recognized two brooches created in collaboration with Tadeusz Dobkowski. It is an artist who with extraordinary sensitivity is able to bring out the natural beauty of amber, creating captivating, timeless forms of jewelry.

„Our intention was to create attractive, unique, and at the same time useful amber jewelry, and participation in Amberif Selection was the first test for it. We based the further development of the project on whether it would be noticed. And we received confirmation that it was worth continuing it,” says Tomasz Kargul.

The amber in these brochures is not an addition – it is a story. Each fragment contains a unique drawing of nature: light, structure, time frozen in the resin. Enhanced by the subtle interventions of Tadeusz Dobkowski and framed in the economical, golden forms of Tomasz Kargul, it gains a new dimension – contemporary yet timeless.

Project T2 From the beginning, it was intended to be a complete work of art. The artists plan to create only 20 copies – and to end this collaboration there. A temporary one, but intense.

„We wanted to create jewelry that would break stereotypes associated with amber. We also wanted to go beyond our recognizable styles and explore what would happen when two sensibilities meet. I believe that this experience can be inspiring for other creators as well,” emphasizes Tadeusz Dobkowski.
