This is already the next show this year – following Berlin and Rome – by the designer on the Fashion Week catwalks, where he presented his jewellery alongside Magdalena Arłukiewicz’s fashion collection. The audience in Milan could admire selected models of necklaces, bracelets and rings from his earlier collections, which over time have already become classics – working well in various stylisations, matching different trends and worn in many different ways. They were complemented by necklaces from the latest collections maintained in his characteristic style and new arrangements of already well-known designs.
I have no illusions that the Fashion Week audience consists of fashion lovers interested primarily in outfits, looking for innovative solutions, interesting materials and inspiring ideas in designers' proposals. Jewellery invariably remains merely an accessory to fashion – however, I try to make it as attractive as possible, to draw attention. I greatly value these fashion confrontations with a sophisticated, deliberate recipient, and I eagerly await their reactions and comments – explains the designer.
As he admits, abroad it is harder to interest a customer in Baltic amber jewellery, to surprise them and convince them of one's creative visions, because they have already seen a great deal and are more demanding than the „Gdańsk” customer, who consciously comes to the Baltic for amber.
When designing jewellery, I always picture a fashion show. I imagine a woman – her outfit and tastefully chosen accessories, or even her hairstyle and makeup. All because it is precisely all these elements together that create a woman's complete image.
For him, the most important thing is that the jewellery stands out – while at the same time making the woman stand out.
The market is flooded with jewellery lacking distinct features, without that much-needed edge – so it’s supposedly there, but in reality, it isn’t...
