Golden Loop is one of the most prestigious awards organised by the Polish Fashion Academy, chaired by renowned fashion critic Jagoda Komorowska. The awards are given for „special achievements, creative thought, compliance with fashion trends, quality of workmanship of collections, popularity in the market and recognition by critics, media and journalists”. For the first time, it was awarded separately for a jewellery collection - for the Alexander Gliwinski. „The Golden Loop Award is a great honour and ennoblement for me. And at the same time a challenge and a commitment for the future,” says the award-winning designer.
Award-winning collection Temptation, which premiered during the AMBER LOOK 2013 Gala in Gdansk, was an experiment in fashion inspired by the work of the great turn-of-the-century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. The idea was to show spatial and architectural garments that do not emphasise body lines. The idea was not to accentuate femininity with tight clothing, but to create synthetic and spatial garments that blur gender. The collection is a combination of elegance and sublime minimalism.
The jewellery designed for the collection was disciplined by geometric shapes and made from natural materials: amber, ebony, silver and leather. The minimalism and economy of form, the modernity of the design and at the same time the expressiveness of the jewellery make it an elegant complement to the collection. The final effect is also the result of collaboration with New Look, which lent shoes from its collection to the show.
Presentation of laureates Golden Loop was held on 22 May at the aforementioned „Journalist Fashion Trips” Gala. The winners included: Hanna Bieńkowska (collection „HANNAH”), Ewa Pieczykolan („La belle époque”), Beata Ruszkowska (autumn-winter 2013/2014 collection for WARMIA S.A.) and Renata Borowicka-Gutsze („Panny z Borów”). However, the gala is not only about fashion shows by the awarded designers, but also a competition for journalists. This year, the main prize was awarded to Dominik Górny from the Polish Journalists' Association. The award, in the form of a men's amber bracelet, was funded and presented by Aleksander Gliwiński.
