Traditionally, the competition will be held in two age categories: for juniors (Jewellery from the Arabian Nights) and seniors (The Snow Queen's Ring). Works in the latter category can be made using manual techniques or computer-aided design. They must be submitted by 20th September 2012 and will be judged by a competition jury appointed from among outstanding goldsmiths and jewellers, with the participation of a representative from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The announcement of the results and the awarding of prizes will take place during the Gold Silver Time trade fair in Warsaw.
The organisers of the Gold and Silver in Craftsmanship competition are the National Goldsmith-Jewellery Commission of the Polish Craft Association and the International Trade Fair Centre. The competition was created with goldsmiths and jewellers in mind, who value quality, professionalism and expertise in the goldsmithing art. The main idea is to promote the skills of individuals who have been practising this profession for many years, as well as young people learning the goldsmith-jeweller trade or embarking on a professional career in this field.
