Jewellery is an indispensable element of fashion – this has been known for a long time, though it's not always visible on the catwalk. Jewellery designer Aleksander Gliwiński, who has extensive experience in the world of fashion – he created his most interesting designs in collaboration with fashion designers Agnieszka Gruszka and Magdalena Arłukiewicz – believes that a joint show is an art of compromise. „It's primarily about giving each other space for presentation without detriment to the collection as a whole, so that every detail creates added value,” the designer said in interview for „Fashion in Poland” magazine”.
Compromise paid off once again: „Even the organisers of the Monte Carlo show were surprised that appropriately chosen jewellery can enhance an outfit so much. I am satisfied that I can break new ground where it hasn't been broken before, and contribute to changing the perception of the role of a jewellery designer in the world of fashion,” summarised Gliwiński.
Just like in Monte Carlo, Aleksander Gliwiński will also present his own jewellery in Berlin, created over the past few years: grand forms inspired by geometry and nature, and the primal shape of natural amber. „Every piece of amber is like another adventure – perhaps that's why I love working with it so much. Even a diamond doesn't have as much to offer as amber. It can be a very strong inspiration – sometimes one piece gives rise to an entire collection. I would call it a kind of covenant with amber: I love it, and in return, it repays me by showing me its natural beauty,” he says.
