Amberif Selection (formerly Mercurius Gedanensis) is a competition that accompanies the Amberif Spring trade fair, aiming to promote the unique features of Baltic amber and the high craftsmanship of creators. This year's edition also provided unusual aesthetic experiences that will be a valuable inspiration for those striving for excellence.
The jury, comprising: Stanisław Krzysztof Jacobson – competition curator, diamond expert and gemmologist, Dariusz Latoszek – representative of the Ministry of Development and Technology, Emilia Kohut – jewellery designer, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, and Anna Sado – editor of the Amber Portal amber.com.pl, jury chairperson, awarded the following prizes and commendations:
– GRAND PRIX Amberif Selection – Minister of Development and Technology statuette: S&A Jewellery Design for „Sounds of Amber” – a pair of Baltic natural amber pendants inspired by nature and its sounds, designed by Piotr Frankowski. The jury appreciated the striking design, which utilised the natural beauty of amber in a geometric form, highlighted by a simple decorative element.
Traditionally, the awarded work will become the global advertising showcase for the Amberif Spring 2023 trade fair.
– International Fair of Gdańsk SA Award – CHILLI Ireneusz Glaza company for the „Fountain Pen”

– Distinction of the Minister of Development and Technology – S&A Jewellery Design for „The Awakening” – a Baltic amber ring in a satin setting adorned with a band of cubic zirconia by Cyprian Chorotej
