The aim of the competition is to present the professional skills of goldsmiths and young goldsmith apprentices specializing in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques, to support professional goldsmithing education and encourage professional development, as well as to create original designs made according to individual needs and to promote jewellery and goldsmithing items made using „Baltic Gold”.
The competition will traditionally be held in two age categories: juniors (young goldsmiths aged up to 22 who are studying or starting to work in the goldsmithing trade) and seniors (individuals working as goldsmiths or amber artisans with confirmed professional qualifications). They will compete under a common theme, which is „Amber Dreams – Jewellery”.
Entries for the competition will consist of individual pieces or sets of jewellery made from precious metals, amber and gemstones. Each participant may submit up to 4 works, which must include amber elements and should not have been previously exhibited.
From this year, the competition bears the name of the deceased in 2021.
