The aim of the nationwide „Amber Craft” Goldsmiths and Jewellers' Competition, held since 2004, is to showcase the professional skills of goldsmiths and young goldsmithing apprentices specialising in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques, to support professional training in goldsmithing and encourage professional development, to create original designs tailored to individual needs, and to promote jewellery and goldsmithing products made with amber. It is organised by the Goldsmiths' and Jewellers' Industry Commission of the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in cooperation with the Gdańsk International Fair. The results were announced during the Amberif fair, where the prize-winning and commended works could also be admired at the winners' stands.

The theme of this year's competition was „Sea Tales”. Participants competed in two age categories: juniors, whose task was to create amber jewellery, and seniors, who undertook the challenge of creating a functional item or jewellery using traditional techniques.
