The Association of Goldsmiths and Goldsmiths invites you to an exhibition of works by its members entitled „Our Amber”. The opening will take place on 15 December at the Contemporary Theatre.
This is the 23rd exhibition organised at the Contemporary Theatre in Warsaw by the Association of Goldsmiths. This time the „Our Amber” exhibition will present as many as 112 works by 45 authors. Its aim is to show the „amber” achievements of the association's members, so we will see works that were „once” created in their studios. However, those who expect that „it's all been done before” are mistaken. - the exhibition will certainly surprise many positively. For although it was not intended to be „(...) specially prepared objects for another, very ambitious story about the art of goldsmithing”, it is hard to resist the impression that a number of the creators have decided to create something new or show us what the wider public has not had the opportunity to see before.
The idea for the exhibition is a response to an invitation from the Mayor of the City of Gdansk, Paweł Adamowicz, to show the work of goldsmiths in the World Capital of Amber. The exhibition did not go to Gdańsk, and we are delighted with its premiere in the capital (with a small „s”).
The opening will traditionally begin at 6pm and will be part of the Goldsmiths' Santa Claus. The exhibition will be on show at the Contemporary Theatre until 25th January 2009.
