The Association of Goldsmiths' Creators is the largest Polish organisation bringing together visual artists and jewellery designers. It is their works that will be presented at this exhibition. We will primarily see jewellery and utility items created over the last two decades in the workshops of older and younger generation visual artists and jewellery designers, including Andrzej Bielak, Jacek Byczewski, Wojtek Hernik, Joanna and Tadeusz Jaworski, Zofia and Witold Kozubscy, Hanna and Jacek Zdanowscy, Magdalena and Tomasz Stajszczak, Kamilla Rohn, as well as Jan Suchodolski and Paweł Kaczyński. There are many more such names – more or less known. It is worth tracing how the face of Polish jewellery has changed over the last 20 years, comparing the past with the present. For older lovers of artistic jewellery, this will certainly also be a nostalgic trip into the past – as these works should also be viewed in the context of the time in which they were created.
This exhibition has been incorporated into the programme of events accompanying the Gold Silver Time fair. At the same time, it will inaugurate a series of goldsmith art presentations at the Bożena Marki Gallery: as announced by Marcin Tymiński, President of the STFZ, vernissages are planned at least every two months and will „obligatorily” take place on the first evening of the fair: ”We would like the exhibitors and guests of this event to be able to meet after the end of the fair day, to talk in a more relaxed atmosphere about what is important to us, i.e. jewellery and design," he says.
