By 1 March this year, entries can be submitted for the Amber Craft competition for individual pieces or sets made using precious metals, amber, and gemstones.

The organisers – the Goldsmiths and Jewellers Branch Commission of the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie SA – have prepared three thematic proposals for participants: for juniors, „Amber Fantasies”; for seniors, a choice between „Amber Emotions 2012” (a functional object) and „Slavic Treasures” (jewellery). For the laureates and participants of the competition, the organisers have planned prizes and diplomas funded by sponsors, which will be awarded and distributed by a seven-person Competition Committee (representatives of the Goldsmiths and Jewellers Branch Commission, the International Amber Association, the National Chamber of Amber Economy, the Guild of Art Crafts, and the Association of Jewellery Appraisers). The announcement of the results and the awarding of prizes and diplomas will take place during the Amberif trade fair.

The aim of the National Goldsmiths and Jewellers Competition "Amber Craft" is to showcase the professional skills of goldsmiths and young aspiring goldsmiths specializing in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques, to support vocational training in goldsmithing, and to encourage professional development. It also serves to foster original design created according to individual needs, and to promote jewellery and goldsmithing works made using Baltic amber.
