– The aim of the competition is to showcase the professional skills of goldsmiths and young goldsmith apprentices specialising in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques, to support vocational training in goldsmithing and encourage professional development, as well as to create original designs made according to individual needs and to promote jewellery and goldsmithing products made using „Baltic Gold” – reminded Waldemar Sawa, commissioner of the competition.
The competition will be held traditionally in two age categories: juniors (young jewellers aged up to 22 years, studying or beginning their work in the jewellery profession) and seniors (people working as jewellers or amber artisans, holding confirmed professional qualifications). They will compete under a common theme, which is „Amber Inspirations – Jewellery”.
Entries for the competition will consist of individual pieces or sets of jewellery made from precious metals, amber and gemstones. Each participant may submit up to 4 works, which must include amber elements and should not have been previously exhibited.
