Goldsmithing is one of the oldest professional craft fields, and goldsmithing products are often works of art – just as captivating then as they are today. This is precisely why this competition was created – to impress with artistry and mastery of execution, but also to inspire subsequent generations of goldsmiths and encourage them to achieve ever higher levels of professional expertise. This is why the „Amber Craft” competition, whose primary intention is to promote the skills of individuals with journeyman and master qualifications, takes place in two categories – juniors and seniors.
The best work in the seniors„ category on the theme of ”Amber Inspirations„ was the ring ”Bryła z bursztynem„ by Jacek Ostrowski. In subsequent positions were Krzysztof Bondaruk, awarded for the necklace ”Neptun – 100-lecie zaślubin Polski z morzem„ (Neptune – 100th Anniversary of Poland's Marriage to the Sea), and Grzegorz Tryjefaczka for the pendant ”Medusa„. Among juniors – who were not restricted by theme – the best was Natalia Klabisz, author of the pendant ”Florem Secinum„. The works of Jakub Klima ”Klejnot morza„ (Jewel of the Sea) and Oliwia Latosińska ”Zawirowania" (Turbulences) were also recognised.
The organiser of the „Amber Craftsmanship” competition is the Gilders' Jewelers' Industry Commission at the Pomeranian Chamber of Craftsmen of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. This year, experienced craftsmen and young apprentices of the goldsmithing art showcased their skills for the 17th time.
