The aim of the competition is to showcase the professional skills of goldsmiths and jewellers, specialising in traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques, as well as young apprentices in these professions. Traditionally, it is held in two categories: for juniors (theme: Lucky Thirteen) and seniors (150th anniversary of the January Uprising – a utility item made using traditional techniques; patriotic jewellery – jewellery made using traditional techniques and patriotic jewellery – jewellery made using 3D computer techniques). All works must feature amber, precious metals, and gemstones.
Competition entries should be submitted to the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts by 5 March 2013. They will be judged by a 7-person committee consisting of representatives from trade organisations, and the list of winners will be announced during the Amberif 2013 trade fair.
The organisers of the Amber Craft competition are the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts and the Gdańsk International Fair SA. The Amber Portal amber.com.pl is its media patron.
