One only needs to look at the works created in Tadeusz Dobkowski's studio to see that amber is treated with particular reverence. He himself declares that natural, raw stones are the most beautiful to him. However, regardless of the type of stone, he is able to create an almost ideal setting for it, one that harmonizes with the stone and enhances its beauty. Initially, the settings were made primarily from silver. Quite recently, the designer has discovered a new, attractively presented companion for amber: black oak. „I was captivated by the effect of combining these two materials. The fact that these are two natural raw materials associated with Poland is also significant,” he explains. However, regardless of the materials used, the goal remains the same: to create sophisticated, elegant jewellery with a unique style. „During the design process, we focus on creating original forms and patterns that are in line with our vision, but also fit into current fashion trends,” says Tadeusz Dobkowski.
Amber sculptures are unique, and it's a dying art that requires enormous skill, patience, and time. „Creating such a sculpture takes several weeks, or even a dozen or so, of precise, intricate work,” he says. The group of beetles sculpted by him is a true masterpiece. Tadeusz Dobkowski's workshop and creative talent have been noticed and appreciated – many diplomatic gifts have been created in his workshop, and recipients include John Paul II, former president Aleksander Kwaśniewski (during his presidency), as well as Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Mariusz Walter. The designer's creativity is also appreciated by loyal customers all over the world.
