„The current good cooperation with the management of the ’Gold Silver Time” trade fair has had a decisive impact on increasing the prize pool," said Joanna Gajda from the Ministry of Economy. The consortium, commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, is implementing a programme to promote the jewellery and amber industries in foreign markets within the framework of the Operational Programme - Innovative Economy.
The awarding of the prize is decided by a jury, which follows criteria such as good design promoting Polish thought, especially abroad, the company's/designer's previous achievements, and their contribution to the broad development of the Polish jewellery industry. This year, the above conditions have been met by:
– AMBER-RING Stanisław Całka – 1st prize (statuette and cash prize of PLN 10,000) „for an excellent combination of tradition with modern forms and materials, as well as significant creative potential; focus on developing international cooperation”.;
PARAGON Dariusz Grzenkowski – 2nd place (cash prize of 10,000 PLN) „for cultivating traditions, gaining non-European markets, and simultaneously showcasing the beauty of Polish national wealth”;
– OSTROWSKI DESIGN Jacek Ostrowski – 3rd place (cash prize of PLN 5,000) „for promoting the Polish brand abroad, creating new jewellery styles. Ostrowski-Design Jacek Ostrowski is noticeable on global markets as a Polish company”.
This division of prizes was decided by the competition jury, which comprised: Joanna Gajda – Ministry of Economy, Anita Dmowska – Head of the Amber Chamber of Commerce Office, Janusz Kowalski – Chairman of the National Goldsmithing and Jewellery Commission of the Polish Crafts Association, Stefan Duk – President of the Jewellery Industry Exhibitors Association, Daria Jankowiak (Motyle) – winner of last year's Minister of Economy Award, Paweł Montewka – President of the Fine Arts Workshop, Krzysztof Rafał Galimski – President of the International Trade Centre, and Anna Świderska – Secretary of the jury.
„These awards are presented for the creation of Polish technology, ideas, and thought, and thus for the promotion of Poland and the Polish economy. This promotion is very important for the Ministry of Economy, which appreciates the achievements of Polish companies,” said Joanna Gajda, presenting the awards to the laureates.
