Amber has its own kind of protective coat, which must not be destroyed; it must be absolutely respected. When we do not polish it and leave it in its natural form, time itself will perfectly perform the work of a polisher. Thanks to this, after a few years, the interior of the nugget will be revealed to us – perhaps there will be inclusions too? And we will learn to respect this wonderful stone and its secrets.
The tradition of amber grinding is known and widespread all over the world. We, the workshop participants, were delighted by the beauty of the raw nuggets, which we could find ourselves from among their large quantity. It is fascinating that it was enough to see and touch them for the magic to work. This is how I got to know the renowned power of amber's attraction. And so my adventure with it began - for I am convinced that these Gdańsk workshops are just the beginning of an interesting acquaintance...
