The basis of the collection is, of course, amber: left in its natural form, beautifully matted, and in the form of so-called slag. The frosted one resembles „powdered” jelly sweets - this has been Ms Danuta's speciality for eight years now, although, as she herself admits, it was only this year that it was „noticed”. The rich range of amber shades was specially selected and composed with sea-polished sticks and ornamental elements made of silver. Particularly noteworthy are the clasps made of amber without the use of metal. „I showed real amber that can be seen and worn,” concluded the designer.
She admits that she is „fantastically lucky to be able to do what she enjoys”. Her adventure with amber began 20 years ago, when she taught herself how to work it and invented what could be made from it. „I was drawn to the kind of work that gives a visible effect - it still gives me the most satisfaction today,” the designer told amber.com.pl. She was most captivated by the beautiful colours of the amber nuggets, but also by its magical healing power: „I owe amber my life”.
Danuta Burczik-Kruczkowska's collection of amber necklaces was presented during the Ambermart 2010 Fashion and Amber Gala in Gdańsk at the „Pomerańcha” show, for which the clothes were designed by Jola Słoma and Mirek Trymbulak. The next instalment of this show is scheduled for Saturday 7 August during the Amber Night as part of the Dominican Fair in Gdansk.
