KIGB is also involved in promoting the city of Gdańsk and its members by popularising the product and promoting amber worldwide. The most flagship projects in this regard are the publication Trendbook – since 2011, systematising stylistic trends that will shape the direction of evolution of creative industries in subsequent seasons (in cooperation with the Municipal Office in Gdańsk and the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk) and International Amber Workshops in Gdańsk – Since 2009, they have been tasked with inspiring amber designers from all over the world who have never used this noble resin in their work (in cooperation with the Gallery of Arts in Legnica and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk).
The Chamber's task is also to represent its member economic entities before state and local government administration, and to protect against fakes and substitutes for Baltic amber – KIGB issues certificates to its members, confirming the use of genuine amber in trade and adherence to good commercial practices.
