Unnecessary Jewellery<\/em> This is a curatorial project that boldly takes authorial jewellery beyond the realm of specialists and collectors. The exhibition curators believe that following the growing interest in textiles, ceramics, and glass, the time has now come for contemporary jewellery \u2013 full of emotion, ideas, and non-obvious meanings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jewellery as a sign of identity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition's title refers to the seemingly superfluous \u201eunnecessity\u201d of jewellery, which for centuries has remained an important marker of identity, a means of self-expression, and a way of communicating emotions or views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition features works by 20 artists from Poland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Mexico, and South Korea. The creators use both classic goldsmithing techniques and solutions that go beyond traditional thinking about jewellery. However, all the creations are united by attention to detail, a high level of craftsmanship, and individual character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition features over one hundred pieces of jewellery \u2013 objects for everyday and special use, balancing between design, sculpture and contemporary art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From organic forms to artistic commentary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition showcases very different ways of thinking about jewellery. Alongside organic compositions, sculptural, constructional, or figurative works are presented, as well as pieces that offer a critical commentary on contemporary life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the participants were Eero Hintsanen, Anna Sikorska, Jaros\u0142aw Kolec, Ma\u0142gorzata Kali\u0144ska, Adriana Lisowska, Youjin Um, Marcin Bogus\u0142aw, and Rose Stach, among others. All of this creates a distinct alternative to the unified aesthetic of mainstream jewellery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Munich to Warsaw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the second edition of the cyclical exhibition organised since 2025. This year's presentation of the project was first showcased during the Inhorgenta Munich trade fair, and then in the prestigious Frame section during Handwerk & Design in Munich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warsaw presentation is the first opportunity to see this year's selection in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
