I haven't seen anyone else manage to incorporate so much into their work while remaining coherent, concise and true to the principles of composition. I have heard from many people who have seen almost everything in jewellery that they have never encountered such jewellery before.

It's hard to put your jewellery into any drawer.

And that is exactly the point! People love to drawers, to name, to assign, because it's easier for them to understand the world. And I like to break out of these drawers the most (laughs). I love to break out, to turn the cat on its head, to be constantly surprised by something new and unusual. I am not one of those artists who, once they have developed their own technique, do not even try others, so they are strongly associated with this one. My jewellery is also specific and strongly associated - but it escapes definition. I know it can be difficult at times. And that makes me... very happy! Because all the differences force you to look at an issue - in this case jewellery - from a completely different perspective. I don't expect everyone to like it, I just want people to understand that it can be as diverse as people and what's in their heads. I try to change perceptions of jewellery - that's why my pieces are understated, to create space for individual interpretation.

It takes a lot of courage to do that.

At a certain point in my working life, I said to myself stop. Stop to doing things that no longer gave me pleasure and that were sucking me out from the inside. My perception of the world and my sense of aesthetics had long since changed course. The fashion shows I attended and the criticism I heard became an even stronger impetus for change. I asked myself what I wanted to do and where I was going. I realised that I am first and foremost a colourist: I love painting, making prints, sewing and combining different materials, which at first glance may seem „off the wall”, but when skilfully combined, work well together. My desire was to create contemporary jewellery - also to get away from Polishness in jewellery, from what is considered a standard in our country, into which I do not want to fit. I set my own criteria for jewellery - which, as it turned out, are naturally received very positively. So, once I had defined myself and my own goals, I began to find my own path and, in order to do so, experimented a great deal with new technologies that I worked out for myself. It cost me many hours of painstaking work to discover my own self in jewellery, to refine what was already my forte: otherness, spatiality, lightness... And then it was time to make my dreams come true - the first was to get into the Contemporary JOYA jewellery exhibition in Barcelona. I felt it was the perfect place to showcase jewellery made from very innovative materials. Recently FB reminded me of the work from that time - over the last three years I have progressed on completely different levels to those earlier years. And I've been making jewellery for 17 years now.

Progress is indeed visible.

Because I really give it my all. You live once! (laughs) Since I've been following the voice of my self, it's as if suddenly the world has opened up to me - commissions have started coming in, several museums have bought my work for their own collections, my work has been shortlisted for important exhibitions, including JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery & Objects and Artistar Jewels Milano Jewelry Week. This „being there” has taught me a lot - I have learnt a lot about myself, what I want to do next, and how the world of contemporary jewellery works, in which I want to make an even stronger presence. I come back from these events and I want to act even more, I am „fired up” with new ideas. I also get an incredible dose of good energy there - many people appreciate my work not only for its design and innovation, but also for the emotions I put into it. So it pays to be authentic in what you do. It's worth finding the space in your head and trusting your own intuition - I don't really listen to anyone any more, and certainly not to so-called professionals. I hear good words from people in the industry, but the most valuable ones are from people who are not professionally involved in jewellery - and this is the most valuable to me, because it is for them that I create jewellery.

Can jewellery be made from anything?

Absolutely. I can even make it „from nothing” (laughs). Probably because I started „from nothing”. - I had to look for my own possible solutions for the materials I could afford. Nowadays, I use materials from different spheres, I'm absorbed by the sky world, for example - all the tools with which you can achieve extraordinary effects. I can do whatever my imagination tells me to do with these materials. At the moment, I am considering how the materials used in the construction of gliders can be transferred to jewellery. They would suit my jewellery because they are light and durable and can be used to make just about anything.

How do gliders relate to jewellery????

For me, what matters most are their properties - but not the physical or chemical ones, but those that make them useful in jewellery. It often so happens that I see a material and by no means ask what it is, but rather check whether its colour, texture, lightness are suitable for jewellery. Jewellery that is supposed to be well-composed, light and functional - the rest doesn't matter. I am inspired by everything, I see potential in everything. The most important thing is a good idea and its realisation - to create an object that is a piece of jewellery. Or a sculpture - because my jewellery also works very well in this function: it is very spacious, seems heavy, but is actually light. I often hear the question, how do I do that?

And how do you do it?

I take scissors, pliers, this and that, I'll join here, stitch there (laughs). In fact, it all comes about by itself (laughs). And seriously: it sounds simple, but it's really hard work, the result of years of research and experience. And my individual sense of taste. I really like asymmetry - by the way, with me everything is „upside down” and I love it. What's more, I've noticed that the more „upside down” the works are, the happier the recipients are. I have the feeling that I have hit the tastes of those who want to have jewellery that no one else will have. This is also why my jewellery is called niche - not even designer or authorial, which in itself makes it niche. I even coined the term Niszolandia - which refers not only to jewellery, but also to other areas of my life. I work on the realisation of ideas until I am completely satisfied. I am sometimes asked how much time do I spend making jewellery? I don't know - as much as it takes. I also like the question of what inspires me? (laughs). But nothing beats the question of what I take (laughs).

Is this already a success?

I don't know what that means. I'm happy with what I've achieved and I'm working hard to create even more interesting realisations in the future.

Any attempt to define her jewellery is doomed to failure in advance - just when you think you've found the right algorithm, she shows the world her latest collection... completely unlike her previous ones.
