The Jury of the National Artistic Jewellery Competition PRESENTATIONS 2011 convened on 22 June. The members were: Chairman Pawe\u0142 Podbielski-Kowalski \u2013 jewellery designer, delegate of the STFZ Programme Board; Joanna Bijok \u2013 representative of MCT and PSP; Wojciech Brzezi\u0144ski \u2013 designer, lecturer at the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; Piotr Cieciura \u2013 designer, head of the jewellery design studio at the Faculty of Design of the Higher School of Art and Design in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a; Gra\u017cyna Hase \u2013 fashion designer; Pawe\u0142 Kaczy\u0144ski \u2013 jewellery designer; Adam Leja \u2013 art historian, owner of Gallery 32. <\/p>\n
Three equal prizes of PLN 3333.33, funded by the International Trade Centre and the Jolanta Bromke Art Studio, were awarded to Agnieszka Hopkowicz and Aleksandra Przybysz. \u201eThe projects are diverse in terms of expression and artistic form, bearing witness to multifaceted thinking about contemporary jewellery,\u201d summarised the jury.<\/p>\n
Jolanta Bromke,<\/strong> \u201eWinter landscape\u201d<\/strong>The author \u2013 already awarded last year \u2013 is a master of mood. She draws inspiration from the surrounding nature, and her technical skill allows her to extract what is essential from the material.<\/p>\n Agnieszka Hopkowicz, \u201eWhat the Willows Whisper\u201d<\/strong>For 3 years, the author has been sending works made with the \u201eart clay\u201d technique to the competition. Thanks to this consistency, the jury was able to appreciate the great progress she has made.<\/p>\n Aleksandra Przybysz,<\/strong> \u201eCrab\u201d<\/strong>A piece unlike others submitted. Aggressive in form and difficult to execute, therefore the jury, despite certain technical shortcomings, rated it very highly.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The third prize, the STFZ President's statuette, was awarded To Norbert Kotwicki<\/strong> for a bracelet with an ascetic, designer form and a high technical level. It allows for the creation of space by moving elements, but due to the low power of the magnets, it is unfortunately only suitable as an exhibition piece. <\/p>\n On behalf of the founders, the jury awarded distinctions:<\/p>\n \u2013 ARMA Companies \u2013 tools and gemstones \u2013 To Dorota Soko\u0142owska<\/strong>. As per the owner Anna Doma\u0144ska's wishes, a colourful and cheerful work was chosen, which is an emanation of \u201eyoung design thinking\u201d.<\/p>\n \u2013 W. KOCIUBA Company \u2013 jewellery tools \u2013 Beacie Ciesielskiej<\/strong> for the \u201eWrist Mechanism\u201d bracelet. Does a work constructed and operating like a clockwork mechanism not deserve recognition from a company offering precision tools?<\/p>\n RODENT Tadeusz Buga\u0142a Company \u2013 goldsmith tools \u2013 To Wojciech Ryga\u0142o<\/strong> for the ring \u201eWho will count the tips in the lychee?\u201d The author, known for his sense of humour, has once again delivered a witty anecdote with his characteristic mastery of craft. owner HOPEA companies <\/strong>honoured Jolanta Bromke <\/strong>for the \u201eOf Rain and Mist\u201d necklace due to its mood and beauty.<\/p>\n \u2013 A prize OPEN GALLERY <\/strong>Mariusza Paj\u0105czkowskiego received Dawid Krzysteczko <\/strong>for 2 rings from the collection entitled \u201eBiomorphic Improvisation\u201d.<\/p>\n The \u201e925\u201d awards in memory of Joachim \u201e\u017banek\u201d Sok\u00f3lski were not awarded by its founder, Piotr Nowicki.<\/p>\n 197 entries from 69 authors were submitted to the competition, with entries from 26 authors qualifying. \u201eAlmost 200 submitted entries show that our competition is enjoying growing interest within the design community. A sign of the times is the clear majority of women. Among the 69 authors, there were 50 of them!\u201d \u2013 summarised the curators. The competition is organised by the Goldsmiths' Art Creators Association and the International Trade Centre and the Fine Arts Studio.
