Following the collapse of Soviet structures initiated by perestroika, it ceased to serve as the representative body for Russian artists. In the 1990s, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia was founded in Moscow, and numerous regional branches subsequently emerged. Initially, the union primarily comprised painters and graphic artists, but soon other visual artists joined, forming relevant sections. The Union became a member of the International Federation of Artists (IFA).
The Kaliningrad branch was established relatively late, in 2000, initially formed by just five enthusiasts. However, it quickly gained popularity and within two years reached a membership of over a hundred, including several foreign artists from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Germany. Due to the region's specific nature, the applied arts section is particularly large and active within the branch, dominated by artists working with amber. It was precisely their works that could be seen at the Amberif trade fair. The official delegation of the TSChR comprised: Lev Nikolayevich Romanenko – chairman of the applied arts section, Lyudmila Igumnova from Moscow – a board member, and Elena Gradinarova, who personally had always attended Amberif for years. In addition to the official representatives, many other Kaliningrad artists could be found at the association's stand, having come to visit the trade fair and establish contacts with their Polish counterparts. The organisation is open to such contacts and readily accepts artists from other countries into its ranks.
The union has a representative headquarters, inherited from a former, privileged organisation. In ‘Soviet’ times, it was a flourishing equivalent to the famous Griboyedov, the headquarters of the union of writers, immortalised by Bulgakov. Even the facade is very similar. But that, now, is just „Ech – cho, cho… Yes, it was, it was.” Now artists are free and have to fend for themselves. However, they are managing and do not miss that stuffy warmth. The house in Moscow on Gogol Boulevard is a venue for numerous exhibitions and meetings, which are gaining increasing significance, and international contacts are developing rapidly.
The exhibition of amber works at Amberif showcased diverse styles, from very traditional to innovative. What unites them is a commendable respect for amber and an excellent mastery of craftsmanship. Kaliningrad artists have truly fallen in love with the gold of the north, and it is to be expected that many successes await them in this field.

This year, members of the Union of Artists of Russia (TSChR) presented their works at the Amberif trade fair for the second time.

This year, members of the Union of Artists of Russia (TSChR) presented their works at the Amberif trade fair for the second time.

122

243
post-12086","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-wystawy","sekcja-design-rzemioslo
["GET
