There are no traditional showcases or scientific descriptions of what we see behind the glass. What is there? An imaginative reconstruction of an amber forest and an old amber mine, where you can listen to birdsong and smell the amber. The impression of participating in a kind of amber mystery is further enhanced by the light: dimmed in the mine or spotlighting the inclusions. An inclusion of a spider eating an ant, two lumps of over-kilogramme amber and a lump of blue Baltic amber - none of the exhibits is here by chance, each is meant to tell an interesting story and provide information about this fascinating stone. How was it created? Why can it be found not only at the Baltic coast? How did insects get inside the nugget?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are the basic questions to be answered in the exhibition. It is made up of three exhibitions devoted to the amber forest, the amber mine and inclusions in Baltic amber. Museum originator Max Kwiatkowski makes no secret of the fact that he prepared it for visitors who know little about the stone in the first place: \u201eMy task is to get them interested in the subject so that they leave here with a head full of knowledge,\u201d he claims.
